We advertise your Fringe show – free!

Sounds impossible – and slightly suspect – we know. But here’s what we’re thinking: Send us a digital version of your 2008 Toronto Fringe Festival postcard or poster, and we’ll post it here on our blog, sometime between now and the end of the festival. Simple.

We get to learn more about your show, look at your awesome postcard, and everyone wins.

Please send your Toronto Fringe Festival postcards here.

By the way, does anybody have any fun stories about an upcoming North American Fringe Festival? What are you working on?

Hey, get the word out about theatre any way you can. I was just up to Toronto on Saturday to see a play, and when crossing the border back into the U.S., the inspector asked why we had been to Toronto.

"For theatre," we answered.

"What's that?" he asked.

Incredulous, we replied, "a play..."

In a perfect America, that man would not be allowed to vote.

Explains a lot, doesn't it? No wonder we're not perfect anymore.

The inspector didn't know what "theatre" was?

Initially, it was hard not to laugh, thinking he must've been pulling our legs, but he really didn't know what we meant until we explained it was a play. (Besides, joking border inspectors are few and far between.) That either cleared it up for him or he decided to drop it, figuring it wasn't anything that posed a threat to homeland security.

I guess if he'd known anything about theatre, he would've asked what the play was before deciding it was safe.
