Ha! Very funny. I just want to mention, however, Praxis, on the other hand, you don't have much competition. How many other good Toronto theatre blogs are there out there? Not many. Just one of the many deficiencies of this community.

btw. anon, thanks for the props, but the only major deficiency i see this community having is cash money and the associated resources that come with it.
we don't need more blogs. we just need enough funds and venues to do half of the crazy shit that i know folks could do. not just to put stuff up. money to workshop, rehearse, and polish productions so they really rocked.

Really Mike? Even from a marketing point of view do you not think that a larger theatre blogging community in TO can't maybe lead to more discourse->more interest->more action->more funds? I'd really like more Vancouver theatre blogs to interact with, I think it ups the exposure of the form in general.

For once, I totally agree with Simon. Blogs are the virtual clubs & bars of the 21st century. Like club & bars blogs are places where people meet, hook up, debate, argue, brainstorm, and get inspired. Blogs are not a luxury, they are essential. And Toronto theatre, for the most part, just does not get this. No excuses, Toronto: MORE theatre blogging RIGHT NOW!

i should have been more clear in my initial comment. yes, more blogs about theatre, would be better than not having them. the more folks exchanging ideas, information - challenging and supporting each other - the better off we'll be.
there's a chicken or the egg question embedded in this though: does more theatre lead to more blogs about theatre or vice versa? i'm pretty sure it's the former.
No, blogging/commenting are things you can do right NOW, as you plan your next on-stage masterpiece (18 months from now, probably). As I've already proved, a blog can turn into a pretty lively place if people stop simply agreeing with each other, and start scrapping a little.
Also, you lot should be over at Nestruck's blog, throwing your hats in. He's a great blogger, and no one is leaving any comments.
